After having had an amazing amount of 14 hugely inspirational batches at OmanTel, we thought it might be nice to share the ideas and content behind these Inspiration Sessions.

To maximize the effectiveness of these sessions, the goal of the courses is to achieve an ultimate degree of interaction between the QMBA inspirator and the participants, and between the participants themselves.

Groups are designed on the basis of the following:

  • Organizationally; staff members in the organization will be invited to the course;

  • Functionally; staff members of a variety of functions will be combined in groups to enhance the degree of interaction and knowledge and idea sharing between participants;

  • Course design; the courses will be designed in the form of Pressure Qookers, which create for a tremendous level of interaction, energy and passion between participants and the inspirator and generates a committing learning environment.

Don’t overestimate your problems or underestimate yourself…”

Every professional on any level in the organization (needs to) make(s) decisions. We start making decisions when we get up in the morning until we go to sleep at night. Maybe we will have made as many as 50 decisions by the time we leave for work. Despite all natural decision making and problem solving that we do, for some people it feels uncomfortable to make decisions. There are people who have a hard time deciding what to eat, let alone the internal trouble they go through in order to take on major decisions at work.

In the same reasoning, everyone has probably seen a solution to something, saying: “I could have thought of that.” The key to solving problems is not just and not always creativity, although that might help. The key to solving problems starts with our ability to think analytically, identify options and analyze them. Having a process to work with can take the difficulty out of problem solving and make solving problems easier.

Everyday business requires everyone to effectively solve problems leading to appropriate and profitable decisions. Thinking skills may be considered natural, but are not necessarily intuitive and may not come naturally. Achieving an effective basis for thinking skills involves analytic thinking and problem solving, breaking problems down into their component parts. Effective problem solving involves deductive reasoning drawing conclusions from givens, and applying judgments to reach conclusions from a combination of gathered information, evidence and assumptions. And finally, to avoid mistakes in execution and operations, working accurately and with attention to details aids to achieve the best results.

In this exciting interactive environment our inspirators take the participants through exploring analytical thinking, problem solving and attention to details by locking them in a Pressure Qooker. Here, they will experience a number of opportunities to imagine even more effective analysis and solutions. By means of various cases that participants will provide themselves, a lot of attention is paid to all facets of the process of analytical thinking and solving problems and the effects of accuracy and attention to details in work.

From their experience as among others industrial designers, entrepreneurs and experienced in the field of analytical thinking and problem solving, our inspirators are masters in approaching problems in an unconventional and most effective way. Moreover, the tools discussed and applied in this course are approaches applicable to any type of problem. They are superior in applying analytics and problem solving methodologies to achieve ultimate results in any business situation.

Participants will learn how to think “beyond analysis” and how they can use structured analytical thinking and analysis in a meaningful and structural way. They will learn how to think positively, changing usual responses from “yes, but…” to “yes, and…”. The techniques, that they learn can be used in solving problems, but also in improving existing situations and facing new challenges.

The ultimate goal is, that participants use their analytical and problem solving skills in such a way that they can complete and reinforce each other. On top of this, the training course will focus on delivering the results of creative processes. Selling ideas right is as important as selling the right ideas.

In this course, participants are bringing their own challenges and issues in order to approach them in a different way then what they are used to, thus generating new visions of the problems and therewith exciting new ways to solutions. Ultimately, decision making tools and philosophies are discussed and applied to generate the best outcomes.

The course generates action plans, which the participants will apply to the actual problems in practice.
